Artist Salon: John Neumeier

Recognised as one of the world’s most renowned choreographers, John Neumeier has been chief choreographer and artistic director of the Hamburg Ballet since 1973. With a career spanning more than 45 years, he has choreographed and produced 160 ballets. As one of the leading Nijinsky experts worldwide, Neumeier is also a keen collector of Nijinsky’s art work, from sculptures to drawings to photographs. He has produced several ballets about Nijinsky, including Vaslav (1979), full-length Nijinsky (2000) and Le Pavillon d’Armide (2009). Meet the dance master in person as Neumeier shares his love of ballet and fine art, and talks about his extensive Nijinsky-related art collection.
