Yup, there’s no doubt about it, being pregnant is tough work! From cankles and stretch marks to watching that needle go crazy every time you step on that weighing scale, seeing your body go through so many changes can be overwhelming. Nobody understands this more than other women going through the same thing themselves and, of course, Belgian-trained midwife and certified doula Athina of Caring Hands and experienced prenatal yoga instructor Ashley of Sacred Funk Yoga. All these peeps know firsthand what it feels like to be kicked in the gut by a baby the size of a cantaloupe or the struggle of having to pee a million times a day.

Which is why we’ve come up with an uber-fab fun day of bonding, brunch and baby talk at one of our fave places to get over our hangriness at – PS.Cafe by the Sea. If you’ve got a bun in the oven, then you’ll need HoneyKids event Bumps ‘n’ Brunch (happening on 22 January at PS.Cafe by the Sea at East Coast Park) on your radar. You’ll get to meet other mums-to-be and learn more about having a blissful pregnancy and empowered birth experience from Athina. Ashley will also be there to give the lowdown on the benefits of exercising through pregnancy. And yes, on top of all that, you’ll get a delish breakfast at PS.Cafe by the Sea… all for $25! Bumps ‘n’ Brunch at PS.Cafe by the Sea

If a morning with other mums-to-be sounds like your jam, here’s what in store for you: we’ll start off the day with a prenatal yoga sesh and guided meditation exercise right on the beach (don’t forget to bring your own yoga mat or towel). Ashley will start by leading you through a relaxing series of preggo-friendly yoga poses. Afterwards, Athina will teach proper breathing techniques that’ll help you relax during contractions, which, trust us, really helps! Afterwards, you’ll head inside PS.Cafe by the Sea where you’ll be served a delish breakfast and listen to short, informative talks from Athina and Ashley. Not only that, but Athina will be sharing tips on how to have a shorter labour, focus on your contractions and manage pain during contractions. She’ll also share the benefits of hiring a doula and how to find one that you can trust. Wondering if you should do yoga while you’re expecting? Ashley will be on hand to bust those prenatal exercise myths and give tips on how to stay healthy and active during pregnancy.

9.30am Arrive at PS.Cafe by the Sea and check in!

9.40am Prenatal yoga stretching by Ashley from Sacred Funk Yoga (don’t forget your mat!).

10am Guided meditation and breathing exercises by the sea with Athina from Caring Hands.

10.20-11.30am Delish breakfast + informative talks by Athina and Ashley.

11.30am Time to say goodbye and grab your goodie bag (although you can totes hang out longer with your new mates if you want to or ask Athina and Ashley some questions).
