The School of Communication at Hong Kong Baptist University was originally founded in 1968. It provides the only comprehensive range of programmes in communication available in Hong Kong at undergraduate and postgraduate level. \n \nWithin the new four-year undergraduate curriculum for the Bachelor of Social Science in Communication, the School offers four choices of major to follow the General Education and core communications courses. These majors are: \n \nFilm and Media Arts (FMA) : Both concentrations - Film or Media Arts - provide a comprehensive education and professional skills in film, television, animation, visual and game design. \n \nJournalism : Within this major, there are three concentrations: Chinese Journalism, International Journalism and Financial Journalism. All provide a solid training in practical journalism skills, including the increasingly vital areas of digital and social media, grounded in a critical examination of the role of journalism and an awareness of its ethical dimension. \n \nOrganizational Communication : This major prepares students for professional careers as communication specialists in profit or non-profit organizations. Students are expected to become well-rounded leaders in various fields of communication. \n \nPublic Relations and Advertising : This major provides opportunities for students to practise the art of effective communication, in both public relations and advertising contexts. At the later stages of the course, students will specialise either in PR or Advertising. \n
