The Hong Kong Mental Health Conference 2020 and Youth Summit took place on Nov 6&8 2020 and post-conference tickets are now available! All ticketholders who purchase tickets after the event date will be able to access conference/ summit sessions on-demand until April 2021.

Hong Kong Mental Health Conference

The Hong Kong Mental Health Conference brought together 45+ international and local youth mental health experts to share their expertise on a number of topics ranging from the perinatal period to transitioning into the workplace. All 20+ sessions are available in English and Cantonese (simultaneous translation or subtitles).

Esteemed international speakers who joined us included:

- Dr. Laurie Santos, Professor of Psychology at Yale University and Host of the Happiness Lab Podcast 

- Professor Patrick McGorry, Executive Director of Orygen

- Professor Dinesh Bhugra, Professor Emeritus of Mental Health and Cultural Diversity at Kings College London and President of the World Psychiatric Association (2014-2017). 

 

The line-up of local speakers included:

- Dr Roger Ng, President of the Hong Kong College of Psychiatrists 

- Sky Siu, Executive Director at Kely Support Group

- Dr Phyllis Chan, Vice President of the Hong Kong College of Psychiatrists

Hong Kong Youth Summit: November 8 [For 12-24 year olds only] 
The Youth Summit, with the overarching theme “Resilience: Supporting each other and ourselves", was by the event’s youth ambassadors together with Coolminds, Mind HK and KELY Support Group’s joint youth mental health initiative. The Youth Summit, for 12-24-year-olds, held interactive sessions, panel discussions, stories of lived experiences, and more. 


Key topics that were addressed at the summit included: fostering positive mental health and resilience; reaching out for support; lived experiences; peer support movements and initiatives; managing academic pressures; and navigating the online world safely and positively.
