ICOHK On the Waterfront
Presented by The International Concert Orchestra of Hong Kong
The International Concert Orchestra of Hong Kong is proud to present ‘ICOHK On the Waterfront’, as part of the Irish Festival of Hong Kong & Macau series of cultural events in March. An outstanding cast of talented musicians from 12 secondary schools in Hong Kong led by Hong Kong-based conductors Debra Jones and Canice Gleeson, will highlight a beautifully palette of instrumental music, from Classical to Irish. ‘ICOHK on the Waterfront’ will take you on a musical journey through a colourful soundscape, in the beautiful Maritime Museum, with the harbour front as our backdrop.
The International Concert Orchestra of Hong Kong (ICOHK), received accolades at their debut performance with Celtic Connections at the ‘Reflection’ concert at St. John’s Cathedral in June 2012, continuing their success with a series of two annual performances including 'A Celtic Christmas', ‘Dream', 'Pacem Noel, ‘Primavera’, ‘The Journey’ and ’The Bells of Christmas’. Members of Hong Kong’s finest youth orchestra are gifted and talented students from International and secondary schools throughout Hong Kong.
ICOHK’s mission is to inspire young musicians through the study of challenging an exciting repertoire with performances of the highest standard on national and international platforms. The ICOHK are delighted to be part of the Irish Festival of Hong Kong & Macau festival and are looking forward to welcoming you to their concert in March 6, 2016 in the Hong Kong Maritime Museum.
