American writer Lionel Shriver is best known for her critically acclaimed novel We Need to Talk About Kevin, which won the 2005 Orange Prize. Earlier this year, Shriver released her thirteenth novel, The Mandibles: A Family 2029-2047, a funny yet chilling depiction of a near-future America following its economic collapse.
