Hong Kong pianist Ivan Wong will be performing solo virtuosic masterpieces and chamber works with music talents in this concert. The performance will also feature Mr. Wong’s talented students, who achieved outstanding results in ABRSM music exams and the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival.

Ivan Wong has received numerous awards for his virtuosic pianism and has extensive performance experience. He was proclaimed 'a distinguished and many-sided musician with convincing technique, high musicality and impressive stage presence' (Wiener MusikSeminar), 'persuasive depth of understanding, professionalism and technical control’ (Trinity).

Currently Mr. Wong focuses on piano performance, accompaniment and teaching. Graduated from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Global Business and Marketing, he has deep passion for education. In 2016, he founded Wonderboom, delivering customised music and communication courses to talented and inquisitive students.

Mr. Wong was awarded the highest-level Fellowship Diploma in Piano at Trinity College of Music, London (FTCL) at the young age of 16, under the tutelage of renowned musician Ms. Jeffie Leung. He then got his grounding in piano performance in Vienna, where he was coached by Mag. Roberta Pili on ultra-polyphony and sound aesthetics, and Prof. Michael Hrubý on modern piano pedagogy and contemporary music.

Mr. Wong is the first prize winner of the “Prof. Dichler Competition” of the Wiener MusikSeminar 2016 – the internationally renowned music festival with 48 years of history supported by the Austrian Federal Government; The Japan-Hong Kong International Music Competition; The HK Students Open Music Competition (Diploma Class); The Schumann International Youth Piano Competition; Osaka International Music Competition. He also received numerous scholarships from the HKSAR Government.

As a recitalist, Mr. Wong has performed at Muramatsu Recital Hall Shin-Osaka, Concert Halls of University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Schubert Memorial Atzenbrugg, Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Recital Hall, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong Chinese University and Youth Square Y Theatre. He also performed at the ABRSM High Scorers' Concert and recorded music for RTHK Radio 4.
