MO Sound-Bites with The Magician
Belgian DJ and record producer Stephen Fasano, better known under his The Magician moniker, will take the stage of this year’s first ‘MO SOUND-BITES’ electronic music event at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong on Saturday, 7 September, with his eccentric stage persona and electrifying, magical live set. This sensational music experience is proudly sponsored by Do What You Love, Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilège, Hublot, Moët & Chandon, Moschino, Peroni Nastro Azzurro and Visual System.
After his departure from the revered Balearic disco duo Aeroplane back in 2010, the artist has been enchanting fans with his unique, original productions and the “Magic Tapes” series on SoundCloud that has last for close to a decade. He is especially known for the massive summer smash “Sunlight” featuring Years & Years and his version of Lykke Li’s “I Follow Rivers” which has struck platinum.
His approach to music is filled with wonder and a hungry, indiscriminate attitude. "I listen to a group or artist without thinking of a genre," Stephen said, “I’ve always been open to different kinds of music.” He spans the dance spectrum, infusing heavy doses of pop and R&B but anchors his productions with house beats and guest vocalists.
It all began when he received a collection of records from his Uncle that happened to be rare Disco albums. As a child, he would hear popular tracks on the radio from Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Queen & ABBA, which contribute to his pop-style elements. Later on when the Disco-House fusion was blowing up in the UK, he was inspired to mix disco and house at his shows.
His refined, elegant take on the funk-driven form of dance music has earned him a cult following worldwide and made him one of the most in-demand DJs in the world of modern disco music, House, Disco, R'n'B/Soul and Pop.
