MO Sound-Bites Presents Be Svendsen

The first ‘MO SOUND-BITES’ electronic music event of the year on 23 March is set to the biggest and most dramatic yet, featuring avant-garde artist Be Svendsen’s unique, mesmerizing visual performance that defies trends, breathing a fresh new life into sounds that hint at ancient nomadic stories, the familiar and obscure.

“The music should ultimately connect you to a bigger picture.  The goal is to express and convey a feeling, and to behold the moment – the essence of oscillating between a simile and a tear,” says the genre-bending Danish musician whose unconventional, pure sound delivers a fusion of the playful and the ironic, with syncopated beats, rendered vocals, world-music, a-typical sampling and live instrumentals, synthesized by the meditative qualities of repetition.

The artist’s first swept onto the global electronica music scene in 2011 with an extraordinary solo performance that led to live festival performances at Portugal’s BOOM, Fusion, Burning Man, AfrikaBurn Symbiosis, and tours through Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia and Africa.

His innovative ‘Tarantino Techno’ sound – a world away from conventional electronic music - is an eclectic blend that skirts the digital for the low-fi with the musician at the forefront mobilizing Tribal-tech, field-teased vibes, woozy Arabic melodies via a rusty spaghetti-western soundtrack that evokes the deserts and planes of the classic American west. It’s playful, yet profound, euphoric and somber and an experience to remember.

“The music should ultimately connect you to a bigger picture,” explains the desert-circus-shaman-cowboy artist.  It is, he adds, “in some way a celebration of chiaroscuro – the light and dark – of existence.”
